Dearest Lixie, I’m nearly caught up with all of your podcast episodes and I’m lovin’ it. Thank you so much for all the great information. If I may be so bold as to suggest a possible future podcast feature topic. . . I’d would really love your input on what to knit with fuzzy, acrylic “fun” yarn that you can’t get rid of because your dear sister gave it to you as a gift and she thought it was beautiful, (too much information?) — How do you go about making the most out of not so pretty yarn?

I usually have two to three projects going, and they go like this:

Easy/Carry in my purse: Usually socks, something with a simple pattern (from ribbed to something like Jaywalkers). Right now it’s some rotating rib tube socks.

Medium/Bring to Knitting Circle: Can be bigger/ more complicated. Right now it’s the Celtic Tote from IK

Fiendish/Work on at home alone while ignoring my phone email tv and the dog: Right now it’s the Arrrgyle Socks from Moth Heaven, for my husband. I keep telling him if he ever wonders if I love him to just look at those *$#& socks.

An easy pattern for socks is the Better Than Booties Baby Socks by Ann Budd which is free from Interweave. The fact that they are baby socks means they are done quickly too!

I forgot to enter the competition! I’ve just hopped over to Woolly workshop and admired the Yarnimals….they are lovely. I think I could adopt a couple of ladybirds without much effort. I was interested in your thoughts on the projects that we choose reflecting our mental & emotional wellbeing. But as a novice I’m only just getting away from scarves and tring my first baby knit. So, my suggestion for a very very easy knit woulf be a long scarf knitted on 20mm ( cricket stump sized) needles. I knitted one for my daughter last year while we watched the Children in Need special. Love the podcast, I think its a good mix.
