Hi Lixie. That stashinator is briliant. The phrase “Pooch may never know about this” does apply here too (different Pooch, though). I calculated to have enough yarn for the next 3,4 years provided that I stay unemployed. (Hope that won’t happen). Thanks!

Lixie, I love listening to your podcast! The stashinator is great. I especially loved the averages for different weight yarns of different fibers. I was already using Trillian42’s yarn stash inventory spreadsheet (http://www.katydidknits.blogspot.com), but your averages helped me figure out the yardage on my many partial balls sans ball bands. Sooo…after getting my 6-year-old’s teacher to agree to take a pound or so of the crummy stuff off my hands, I’ve got…34.108 lbs and 18.3796 miles of yarn.
I have a copy of “Last-Minute Knitted Gifts”. It’s pretty good. I love the wristwarmers and the child’s rainbow scarf. I’m also planning to do the little baby sweater soon. Not quite sure I’d count some of that stuff as real “last-minute” stuff, but it’s a nice book to have. If you’re not sure you want it, I’d suggest getting it from a library first to see if it’s worth the money. Of course, you could always go to the “swap-o-rama” section of the Knittyboard and offer up some yarn in exchange for the book, too…

Hi Lexie
You probably already know this but that unexpected knitting book is availible via kcg trading. It’s still a bit steep at £29 though.
Really enjoy the podcast by the way
